For the Sportsmobile Conversion and Options
- Send a copy of your Sportsmobile conversion plan and your price sheets to the Sportsmobile location you selected.
- A Sportsmobile Designer will contact you. Your representative will review your order for the van and van options with you.
- When you are satisfied that all is OK, you can send a personal check for $4,000 or call with your credit card number or info (non-refundable).
- Your order will then be put on our production schedule.
For the Van – Highly recommend Sportsmobile supplies van.
- Sportsmobile keeps a continuous inventory of vehicles with preferred options. Sportsmobile stock vehicles may shorten production time, due to vehicles location.
- Your Van will be delivered directly to Sportsmobile if not on site already to no cost to you.
- Full payment of vehicle is then required.
- Ownership paperwork i.e. buyer’s order, registration, taxes and insurance may apply at this time.
- If you prefer to supply your own vehicle, we highly recommend contacting Sportsmobile to insure compatibility with conversion. Handling fees may apply. (Inspection and insurance)
Time Frames – Payment / Delivery
- The entire process usually requires 8-12 months. If it’s a 4×4 or a Sprinter, it may take longer. Delivery times can vary due to the van manufacturer’s and Sportsmobile’s schedules, time of year, etc. Contact Sportsmobile for current delivery times.
- The Sportsmobile conversion will take approximately 3 months.
- A couple of weeks prior to starting production of your conversion, we will again review your plan and order with you.
- Final Payment. Personal check, cashier’s check, or wire transfer. Financing is available.
Taking Delivery
After You Leave For Home Or An Extended Trip, you will need to make only one stop for groceries. Then you can really start enjoying the pleasure of owning a Sportsmobile!
Do You Deliver? Yes, nationwide. Once all paperwork is finalized and payment received Sportsmobile is ready to be picked up. We will give customer contact information of our trucking dispatcher and/or driver to schedule when to drop off. Our Sales rep will keep you posted on delivery. The dispatcher and/or driver will also be in touch with you on the schedule. Normally a 24hr notice and 2hr drop off window are given to the customer. Please keep in mind delivery can take 3 to 10 days and sometimes more depending on driver’s schedule. When the Sportsmobile arrives, interior and exterior are detailed before putting truck. All keys (2), paperwork, and manuals will be in the van’s cab. We highly recommend reading all this info when going over the Sportsmobile. After this, contact Sportsmobile and schedule a phone orientation. We also supply an orientation video.
If You Would Like to Stay Over A Night, Sportsmobile Texas and North will pay for the motel, or stay at one of our local RV parks. This way you can get better acquainted with your Sportsmobile before you leave town. If you still have more questions, you can come back the next morning.

Misc. Info / Who Supplies the Van? / Service / Warranty / Financing / Insurance
Where Can I Get Service?
Any authorized dealer can service the van. We use only the best quality, name-brand appliances, so any RV service center can take care of a problem. We list the 800 numbers and websites of our appliance manufacturers in our owners manual. And of course, any of our three locations can also service your Sportsmobile. Should you ever need our help, please contact us. We’ll strive to remedy the problem to your satisfaction, immediately. Should you ever need a replacement part fast, we’ll ship it ASAP if it’s in stock.
Sportsmobile’s Warranty?
Sportsmobile’s limited warranty — 3 years/36,000 miles. Appliances, such as the refrigerator, furnace, hot water heater, air conditioner, and 4×4 are warranted by their respective manufacturers. The van chassis is warranted by the van manufacturer.

Can I Order Remotely?
Yes! We’ve been very successful these last few years with phone calls, video conferencing and emails to complete the design process. We’ve had many customers design, follow the manufacturing process through and Sportsmobile deliver the vehicle without the customer coming to the factory. Highly recommend you visit the factory and pickup at the factory to orientate you on your custom Sportsmobile.

What’s the Payment / Delivery Schedule?
If You Select An In-Stock Van
We request a $4,000 deposit. The deposit is non-refundable. Prior to starting production on your van, the balance on the van is required. Please contact your Sportsmobile location (North, Southwest or Texas) for a production schedule.
If You Already Own A Van
We highly recommend contacting Sportsmobile to insure compatibility with conversion. Handling fees may apply. (Inspection and insurance)
Financing & RV Insurance
Financing
Sportsmobile offers Recreational Vehicle financing for both the Van and Sportsmobile Conversion. Only Sportsmobile TX offers financing for pre-owned Sportsmobiles.
New and Pre-Owned
RV financing offers advantages over traditional auto financing, 90% of total van plus conversion, minimum 10% down — longer loan length, ability to deduct interest on personal income tax, (Check with your accountant.) and no penalty for early payoff. Terms depend on customer’s personal credit history.

Motorhome Insurance
Motor-home or RV insurance rates are often much less than car rates. Not all insurance companies offer RV insurance, but the ones that do can save you money, plus better advise you on coverage. If the Sportsmobile will be your only vehicle, this will not apply. What are the requirements for a conversion to be classified as an RV? Please see “What Is A Sportsmobile” under Miscellaneous Info below.
RV Interest Deduction?
Interest may be deductible from your federal income tax return as a second home (motorhome). Consult with your accountant.
